So, finally after a long many weeks and days of telling my husband how much it would mean to me, I got the camera of my dreams! The XSI Rebel! It is amazing!
I am learning how to use it and even got myself a handy dandy book for dummies!! It's called Canin EOS Digital Rebel XSI/450D FOR DUMMIES
I also got some lens filters. One 58mm UV filter, which they say is pretty darn important. Something about protecting your lens. Sounded like a good plan so I went to the store and got a UV lens filter.
Another filter they say is handy to have, but not necessary is a polarizing lens filter. They say get circular instead of linear. I headed to the store, and I got one one of those as well! Wow! What a handy filter! It provides color and contrast enhancement. A Polarizer corrects the problem of reflected light that shows up as a white glare that washes out color. It also removes glare from non-metallic surfaces, such as windows and water. I can take pictures right through my truck window with no reflections.
Next I got a Sepia filter. First off, the camera can do sepia all on it's own . . . if you dial in and tell it to, that is. It does look cool though with some picture color coming through the sepia so not a complete waste. I do have CS3 so I could do it with that but since I have the filter, if I remember to put it on, I will be able to skip that CS3 step.
Next I wanted to take macro shots so I did some research and decided that until I am ready to buy a macro lens, a few macro lens filters would do the job.
The other 2 items I purchased right away is a backup battery and a 8g SD card. I am set on my way to start seeing what I can do!!!!
